Easter 2008

These are, according to Ethan, giraffes.

Philip gets to hold Alex.

The Canadian division of the family came to visit - here is Uncle Roy holding Alex.

Hannah had been showing off her rolling over skills. Of course, when I try to take a video, she isn't about to do it.....

Double trouble - or is it triple trouble???

Here's Uncle Mark with two nephews last weekend. Alex had a doctor's appointment this week. He now weighs a whopping 6lb 6 oz!!!! That is over a pound in a week!!

Grandpa Beans with the boys tonight. Guelly doesn't look too thrilled to be sandwiched inbetween Grandpa and Alex....

Alex meets Guelly

Here is a video of Guelly holding Alex for the first time. I think Guelly wasn't sure which was more interesting, Alex or Clifford on TV. But Alex seemed to be keeping a close eye on Guelly.

Guelly and Alex

Guelly here. I want to apologize for my Grandma and Mommy. They just haven't been putting updates on the websites but they say they had good excuses. Grandma has had a fever for a couple of days (she's fine now) and Mommy couldn't get her computer started when she got home and needed Tech Support, who as I mentioned, had a fever. Anyway, Mommy came home Monday!!!!!! But she brought the intruder, I mean my brother, home with her. I am just not too sure about having that thing stay here. He seems to think he can sleep in my bassinet (ok, so I can't remember using it but it was mine) and use my car seat (I can fit in it if I try) and Mommy and Papi don't like it if I try to take him out of either one so I can get in. Geesh, what's a two year old to do? Beginning to look like I am going to have to accept the fact that I have a baby brother named Alex and he is going to live here.
Grandma let me use her camera to take this picture. Mommy helped me point the camera and kept telling me to move my fingers. I was just trying to hold on to the camera good so I didn't drop it. I finally got this picture of Alex and some of Grandma.
Here I am holding Alex for the first time. Grandma talked me into it. Maybe Alex isn't so bad after all.
I guess with time I can accept the fact that I have a brother living here. Although I was ready to take Grandma up on her offer to take Alex with her.....

In case you missed it, I will be going to Mexico soon and getting to meet mine and Alex's other grandparents for the first time ever!!!! Papi has to meet with the immigration people April 14, then we go see my grandparents, then Mommy, me and Alex fly back to El Paso to meet Grandma S who will drive back to Ohio with us. Then we get to fly back to El Paso for Papi's next meeting with immigration on May 21. I sure hope they let me bring my Papi back home after his second meeting. So send all good thoughts and prayers our way that Papi gets to come back with us as a legal immigrant!!

Sunday with Alex

Alex was in sleeping mode when we saw him this afternoon. Notice he no longer has the oxygen tubes or an IV. Only a feeding tube going thru his nose, and of course the monitor wires. Hopefully he gets better at eating soon and can lose those too.
Alex finally opened his eyes and looked today. I think maybe he thought if he opened them that lady with the bright flashing lights would go away and he could get some uninterrupted sleep.
Here's Guelly in the lobby at the hospital. He seems to be getting used to the idea that there is a baby.....somewhere. He identifies pictures as 'Alex'. He watched the video of Alex crying and almost jumped off my lap the first time. I don't think he realized this thing called a brother actually moved and made noise. But he has wanted to watch it again, and again, and again....
