Memorial Day Weekend

Guelly, Ethan and Hannah enjoying the nice weather under the willow tree.
Ethan found the rope from the old tree swing. The rope has broke, but one side is still attached and he enjoyed himself swinging from the rope. Guelly didn't get the idea and just held the end of the rope.
Hannah and Guelly team up on Alex. Notice that Guelly got a haircut between the first picture and this one. Ethan did too, but not as short.
The two little ones, Hannah and Alex, are both about the same size already.

Saturday night

Erin graduates from high school this year, so everybody went to her graduation party Saturday. Hard to believe she is that old already!! Seems like just yesterday she was trailing along behind Mindy....
After the party, they all ended up here. Here is Grandpa Beans with all 4 Grandkids. Ethan took the fish I had at school home last night so that he can put them in his pond. He said the white one was his and the gold one was Hannah's. Hope they survive and don't get ate in the pond!

Guelly does know how to share.....

Guelly did demonstrate that he knows how to share - just wish it would have been something other than the flu - with vomiting and diarrhea. Dan and I both came down with it overnight Monday night. Missed school on Tuesday, but went back the rest of the week. Hopefully nobody else catches it. I have come home a couple of days and just slept most of the evening and night away - just that worn out. Today is the first day I actually feel like eating anything - a bowl of chicken noodle soup went down pretty well at noon and has stayed there. Taking it easy and trying not to overdo the eating, which is pretty easy when nothing sounds good!!

We are HOME!!!

The boys in Grandpa Beans' chair. I think they were both glad to be back!! Guelly threw up again last night about 2:30am - all over himself, mommy and some on Alex - I was glad he slept with them and not me!! Housekeeping brought up sheets so Ali could change the bed. Today he has diarhea, but was acting pretty much normal. Although he did sleep more than normal on the way home. He kept asking "open me" meaning he wanted the car seat straps undone. Sorry, not going 70 MPH down the road. Even tried telling us "Butt hurt" a few times :) He apparently needs to see you more Uncle Mark - he would do something and I would tell him he was just like Uncle Mark and he would anwer 'Who?" It is good to be back - it is a very long drive from El Paso Texas to Sherwood Ohio with a 2 year old and a 2 month old!! May 21 is coming up fast, so send all prayers that Nacho gets approved and can come home. A certain two year old kept asking "Where's Daddy?"

On the Road Again....

Here is Guelly and Mommy somewhere in Oklahoma on one of our many stops. If one boy doesn't want to stop the other one does.
Note the shirt - Short, Cute and Lovable. He was happy at this stop cause it was Alex who was hungry and grumpy.
Unless he is hungry, this is Alex's normal state. Guelly just threw up here in the Comfort Inn in Springfield Missouri. He didn't want to eat much supper, and it is a good thing he didn't. Maybe that is why he cried for half an hour until we stopped - he wasn't feeling well. Hopefully he is ok by morning. We still have a long way to go on Sunday but one way or anoher we will make it!

On our way - finally

What happened to the tiny preemie???? Alex has some serious rolls now!!
Guelly being his ornery self while Alex tries to sleep in this morning.

How come things never work out as easy as they should? I should have known I was in trouble when the first flight from Ft. Wayne left an hour late. It got into Chicago 45 minutes later, leaving me about an hour to find my next flight - in the next terminal and as far from where I came in as you could get. Got there, they loaded the plane on time, then we sat on the plane for an hour waiting on a first officer to get there. He made it, we went onto the runway, about 12 planes ahead of us to take off, and the storms were getting too close and they shut the plane down and sat there. After another hour - 2 hours late by that time- we took off for Dallas. Of course I had missed my connecting flight to El Paso. They booked me on the 1:00 - by the time I got to that gate, the time had changed to 2:38 departure!!! Got the Tracfone out to call Ali - no signal!! So used a pay phone to call - of course she doesn't answer. Did this twice so I finally got on the plane -loaded bt 2:16 but didn't leave till 2:45 - hoping Ali had gotten the messages. She had, claiming she had been busy both times I called. As soon as I got to El Paso I called again - Tracfone working - and got her. She was waiting by the baggage claim. Loaded everybody in the car and headed out around 5:30pm. Stopped after 11 local time at a Day's Inn in Colorado City, TX.

Leaving

I am leaving Friday morning for El Paso to meet Alison and Miguel and Alex. My United plane leaves Ft. Wayne at 6:00am. I fly to Chicago and change to American Airlines. at 7:30 Chicago time I leave for Dallas, get in at 9:50. Then at 11:40am I leave Dallas and arrive in El Paso at 11:20 am El Paso time - which is 3 hours behind Ohio. Hopefully Alison and I make our connections without too much trouble. She and the boys are coming into Juarez around 8:30am and will take a taxi across the border and to their car at the El Paso airport, then wait for me. Once we all make connections, we begin the long drive back to Ohio. Should make it back sometime on Sunday. I will try to get Ali to update her blog as soon as I can!!
