June 2012

Besides being hot and dry - very dry - we have kept busy.   Ethan, Hannah and Carter participated in the mile long Fun Run in honor of Alex Ellert.   Here is Carter trying to get that thing off his back!
The start of the race.   Ethan and Hannah ran well by themselves, Carter, on the other hand, was very much interested on the numbers and lines on the track and oh my - a TEEPEE at the north end.   Mindy took him the first lap, carrying him most of the way, Grandpa took him the second lap doing the same thing, so Carter went half a mile during the run.   We might still be waiting on him to finish if left to his own devices.   But still a good effort by a not quite 3 year old!
 Ethan finishing the race.
Hannah with mommy.   Mommy and Daddy then went to run the 5K race while Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to eat pancakes and sausage!
Ball game time.   The 3 oldest each played on a different team.   Here is Miguel playing for his team in Ney.    PeeWees are so funny!
Alex was not impressed - too hot and dry - did I mention we need rain - badly?
Somewhere along the line my washer decided to die - so here is a shot of my new Maytag.
Hannah also played Peewee ball, only in Holgate they hit off a tee all the time, in Miguel's league the coach pitched, then if they couldn't hit it they got to hit off a tee.   Also in Holgate, they have these train time-outs.   Since the field is right next to the train tracks, there is a pause anytime a train goes by so everybody can have a look.
 Hannah running home.
Ethan is in the league at Holgate that is all coach pitch.   His dad is the coach that does the pitching to him.
He usually plays catcher.   Hopefully, he will have grown into his equipment more by next year.   It was pretty big on him!
